Seeding Aadhaar with Central Bank of India

One of the oldest commercial banks of India, Central Bank of India is the first truly Indian Bank which was totally owned and established by Indian without any foreign help.

Central Bank of India was established in the year 1911. It was Sir Sorabji Pockhanawala’s vision to establish a thoroughly Indian bank. In the year 1969 the bank was nationalized by the Government of India.

Central Bank of India has its presence in 27 states and in 4 union territories. As it was an out and out “Swadeshi Bank”, Pochkhanawala proclaimed it to be the “property of the nation and the country’s asset”.

The bank has over 3000 branches over and 250 extension counters nationwide. The headquarter of the bank is in the financial capital Bombay, along with 16 zonal offices in length and breadth of the nation including Agra, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai Metro Zonal Office, Muzaffarpur, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Pune and Raipur.

How to link Aadhaar with Central Bank of India

Government has mandated the linkage of Aadhaar Card with bank accounts in order to avail the subsidised schemes offered by the Government of India.

  1. Linking Aadhaar with Central Bank of India Account Online
  • Visit Central Bank of India’s official website: www.centralbank.net.in
  • Click the Customer Service tab on the homepage
  • Click in the “Update your Aadhaar Number”
  • Enter Aadhaar Number and Click “Submit”
  • Once the verification is done, the account holder will receive a mail and a SMS.
  1. Linking Aadhaar with Central Bank of India Account Offline
  • Visit the nearest Central Bank of India branch along with original and one photocopy of Aadhaar and the original passbook of the bank and one photocopy of it.
  • Fill the application form provided by the bank
  • Once the documents have been submitted along with the application form, the bank officer will hand out a copy of the receipt the account holder after the verification.
  • Once the account is successfully linked the customer will be intimated via mail or on a registered mobile number

IFSC Code of Central bank of India

IFSC Code is 11-digit code assigned by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to every bank as a part of NEFT / RTGS.

In IFS Code

(a) First four characters identify the bank name i.e. CBIN

(b) The fifth character is always 0

(c) And the last character represents the branch address i.e. 281606

[The IFS code used in above example is of Delhi Cantt, Delhi NCR. i.e., “CBIN0281606”]
