Seeding Aadhaar with United Bank of India Account

United Bank of India (UBI) is one of the leading nationalized banks of India in the country headquartered in Kolkata with 35 regional offices and more than 2,000 branches all over the country.

United bank of India is the amalgamation of four banks which are Bengal Central bank Limited, Hoogly Bank Ltd, Cuttack Bank Ltd and Tezpur Industrial Bank Ltd.

How to Link Aadhaar with Bank Account

It is now mandatory to link the Aadhaar Card with bank accounts to avail the subsidised schemes offered by the Government of India.

There are many ways to link Aadhaar with existing UBI bank account:

  1. Aadhaar linking with UBI Bank Account Offline
    • Take the original and one photocopy of Aadhaar card and the original and photocopy of the Pass book. And a written application requesting linking the two. Along with the filled application form.
    • Visit the nearest bank branch along with the documents.
    • The bank officials will hand out the receipt of the form and will confirm that the process has been initiated.
    • Once the process is successfully done, bank will intimate the account holder through SMS or via mail.
  2. Aadhaar linking with UBI Bank Account Online
    • Visit the official website : www.unitedbankofindia.com
    • Login to the internet banking service
    • Click on the “Update Aadhaar Card Details”
    • Insert details about the Aadhaar Card
    • Click on Submit.
    • Once the verification is done, the account holder will get a mail or a SMS on their registered mobile number, confirming the successful completion of the linkage.

IFSC Code of United Bank of India

An IFSC or Indian Finance System Code is an 11 digit alpha – numeric code used by the Reserve bank of India to identify all the bank branches within the National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT).

(a) First four characters identify the bank name i.e. UTBI

(b) The fifth character is always 0

(c) And the last character represents the branch address i.e. RABA14

[The IFS code used in above example is of West Bengal, Kolkata, Rabindra Sarobar i.e., “UTBI0RABA14”]
