Refuting Government Services due to lack of Aadhaar is Violation of Norms

The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) agency, issuing Aadhaar has denied the statement by an activist who doubted “Aadhaar removing bogus beneficiaries as distorted”.

Ajay Bhushan Pandey, the CEO of UIDAI responds to the claim in an e–mail statement saying

Their inferences arise from a skewed approach and draws misconstrued interpretations to pass off incorrect assumptions on Aadhaar
.

In turn Pandey defended saying Aadhaar is a technology meant to empower people and not meant to exclude them from any benefits offered by the Government.  As Aadhaar Act itself

mandates that not even one person be denied of benefits for the lack of Aadhaar

He further argued that it is the responsibility of the agency to enrol the beneficiaries and provide the individual with benefits till the person is given Aadhaar.

Another Statement made by Ajay Bhushan Pandey saying that

The field agencies have been accordingly instructed through the notifications issued by the government. In spite of this, if a person is denied because he does not have Aadhaar or he is unable to biometrically authenticate, it is undisputedly a violation of instructions issued by the government and such violators have to be punished,
