Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric enabled digital life certificate for pensioners. This certificate is provided to the individual pensioners with Aadhaar linked biometric information. The beneficiaries of this scheme will be pensioners of Central Government, State Government or any other Government organizations.
Owning Jeevan Pramaan, the pensioner need not require appearing in front of authorized officer for life certificates. Once the pensioners have registered themselves, they can continue to generate Jeevan Pramaan by using the Biometric authentication.
Jeevan Pramaan life certificate can be produced digitally from the comfort of your home as it can be done online. However, the traditional life certificates can be produced only by the authorized Pension Disbursing Agencies (PDAs) / Pension Sanctioning Authorities (PSAs) like Banks, Post offices etc.
To enable Jeevan Pramaan, the pensioners require a personal computer, internet connection, the Jeevan Pramaan software, and one of the biometric devices such as:
- Fingerprint scanner
- Iritech (IMK2120U)
- Iris scanner
- Startek (FM220 – ACPL)
- Precision (CSD200)
- Nitgen – BioEnable (HFDU08)
- Morpho (MSO13XX)
- Mantra (MFS100)
If you have an Android smartphone or a tablet, you can still get the Jeevan Pramaan life certificate. You can download it from the given link jeevanPramaan.gov.in
In case you don’t own a smartphone or doesn’t have a secured internet connection, you can visit the nearest Jeevan Pramaan Centre which is being managed by CSCs, government offices or banks.
It is a simple and a hassle-free process as it does not require to being physically present and stand in a long queue at the disbursing agency or the certification authority.
However, if you want to visit the Jeevan Pramaan Centre, you can locate the place yourself by following the below-mentioned process

- Click on “Locate a Centre” on the top right menu on the homepage
- You get the option to either search by Location or the PIN code
- In order to search location, use the name of your state and district
- Or Enter the PIN code of your area to see the list

Jeevan Pramaan for PDA and PSA
The PDAs (Pension Disbursing Authority) and PSAs (Pension Sanction Authority) will have to log in to the website to view and download the life certificates of pensioners. This option will allow the PDAs and PSAs to process pension payments online with a high level of transparency and management. And the registration process is also easy which can be done by filling a simple online form.
At present, nearly 48.48 Lakh pensioners have registered for Jeevan Pramaan. And after 1st November 2016, nearly 31.24 Lakh pensioners have registered under Jeevan Pramaan life certificate.
This online enrolment and biometric authentication system will simplify the way pension payouts have been functioning in India. And as a part of Digital India initiative, the Jeevan Pramaan Scheme aims at sparing the pensioner from the trouble of visiting a PDA or PSA for the submission of life certificate.
