The Government of India holds a share capital of approx. 63.97% as recorded on 31 Dec 2015.The Bank has done a total business of approx. 3,106 billion (US$48 billion) meeting a net gross profit of 5.40 billion (US$84 million) according to the Financial Year 2015-2016. The Andhra Bank was the first bank to pave the way for the credit cards in the year 1981. It has also been ranked 1st in the numbers of Life Insurance Policies amongst all the agency banks that are dealing with the Life Insurance Policies. This bank has been awarded the "Best Bank Award" which is mainly a banking technology award by IDRBT, Hyderabad for introducing the IT technology in the semi-urban and rural areas on 2nd September 2006. The Andhra Bank was ranked as the 532nd amongst top 1000 banks in the world- By "The Banker" which is a London based Publication.
