The following steps must be taken in so as to link Aadhaar with your Allahabad bank account:

  1. Documents required:
    • Original and a photocopy of the Aadhaar card
    • Original and a photocopy of the bank’s passbook
  2. Steps to be followed:
    • after visiting the bank branch fill the application available at the bank branch to link Aadhaar with the bank account
    • After filling in all the details in the application the bank will ask for the documents for verification.
    • After the verification process is over the bank will give back all the documents.
    • An acknowledgement slip will be provided by the bank to the account holder as a receipt for future use.
    • The Aadhaar card linking is done manually by the bank and once it is done a confirmation SMS or e-mail is sent to the account holder.

  2. Subsidy amount on commodities: The subsidized amount on commodities like rice, sugar, kerosene etc. will also credited directly to the Aadhaar linked bank account
  3. Government schemes payment: The payment of various government schemes like MNREGA,tribal welfare schemes, government scholarships are directly credited to the Aadhaar linked bank account
  4. Area of access: Another benefit of a linked account is this that it can accessed anywhere in India and in anytime.
