Himachal Pradesh Ration Card | Application Complete Process – 2018

The Ration Card is an essential document issued the Government of India. The Ration card plays a very important role in everyone’s life. The Ration cards provide a lot of benefits to the citizens, it not only provides the food grains and other home used products such as Kerosene, LPG, Sugar, Wheat etc. at very low rates but also it serves as an Identity Proof of the entire family. The Ration Card also enables you to get a various number of schemes provided by the Central and State Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Documents Required Applying For New Himachal Pradesh Ration Card

When applying for a new Himchal Pradesh Ration Card these are the following documents required to submit:

  • If you have migrated from one region to another region, then you have to submit a deletion certificate that states that you are not in possession of any Ration Card.
  • If you want to add members to the existing Ration Card (in case of marriage), then you need to submit spouse’s deletion certificate. In case of the birth of a new family member, you need to submit the birth certificate of the child.
  • You also need to make sure that you carry the existing Ration Card.

Eligible Criteria to Apply for Himachal Pradesh Ration Card

  1. Person Having No Ration Card: in this case, the applicant has to submit a certificate from a Panchayat Secretary/ Panchayat Sahayak/ Food and Supplies Officer/ Inspector, FCS and CA/ Concerned Authority in writing that the person is not having a Ration Card. This certificate has to be attached along with the Himachal Pradesh Ration Card Application Form.
  2. The migrators- A temporary Ration card is provided to the migrators with a validity of three months.
  3. If in case the Ration card is lost, misplaced, and ineligible where, the cardholder has no fault. Here, the competent authority can issue a duplicate Ration Card with an appropriate fee amount.
  4. The person having Ration Card at the previous place: This is applicable for the Government Officials or the person who has transferred from one place to another. In this case, the deletion certificate is required from the Panchayat Secretary/ Panchayat Sahayak/ Food and Supplies Officer/ Inspector, FCS and CA/ of the place where the person was residing previously. This document is attached along with the Ration Card application form and Ration card.
  5. After Marriage: A deletion certificate is required from the spouse’s place of residence, issued by Panchayat Secretary/ Panchayat Sahayak/ Food and Supplies Officer/ Inspector, FCS and CA.
  6. In case of the birth of a new family member, you need to submit the birth certificate of the child.

Procedure to Apply for Himachal Pradesh Ration Card

The State Government of Himachal Pradesh has provided different ways of applying for the Ration Card. The cardholders can either apply for the application form online or offline. The Himachal Pradesh PDS System has an online portal, where you can apply for the Ration Card online. Other than the Ration Card Application, the online portal also provides application status check, correction on the card and much more.

Offline Method of Applying for Himachal Pradesh Ration Card

  1. Collect a Ration Card Application Form from the Office of Panchayat Secretary/ Panchayat Sahayak if you reside in a rural region. And if you live in an urban area then you can contact the Food and Supplies Officer/ Inspector, FCS and CA.
  2. Fill in the application form correctly. Make sure you complete the form because incomplete form can lead to getting rejected.
  3. Submit the application form for issuing a new Ration Card along with the deletion certificate that has been issued by the previous places of the residence. Panchayat Secretary/ Panchayat Sahayak if you reside in a rural region and Food and Supplies Officer/ Inspector, FCS, and CA if you reside in an urban region.
  4. The deletion certificate is not required if the applicant is applying for a new Ration Card. Submit all the above documents that are mentioned along with the application form.
  5. Now get your application form and all the documents attested by a Gazetted Officer like Municipal Commissioner or Member of the Legislative Assembly. You can also get it attested by the person who is associated with the Government.
  6. After the submission of the form, the applicant is provided with a receipt of his application form. He is also allotted with a date, where he has to collect his Ration Card. Make sure that you keep the receipt number as this can be helpful for the Application Status Tracking purpose.
  7. Once your application form is submitted, the ration card office will conduct verification process where the address and other details will be checked. Once all the information is found in order, the applicant is issued with a new Ration Card.
  8. Verification will also be held for the number of the members of the family. For the issuance of the new Ration Card to the APL Families, a processing fee of Rs 5/- is charged along with the application form.

Online Method of Applying for New Himachal Pradesh Ration Card

The State Government of Himachal Pradesh has launched an Online Portal for the application of the Ration cards. It is available in two languages: Hindi and English.

  2. Fill in the required details correctly. Make sure you completely fill the form. An incomplete form can lead to the rejection of the application form. Visit the Panchayat Secretary/ Panchayat Sahayak if you reside in a rural region and Food and Supplies/ Inspector, FCS, and CA if you reside in an Urban Region.
  3. Now submit the application form along with the deletion certificate that has been issued by the previous places of residence. The deletion certificate is not required if the applicant is applying for a new Ration Card. Make sure you submit all the required documents along with the application form.
  4. Now get the application and the documents attested by a Gazetted Officer.
  5. Once your application form is submitted, the ration card office will conduct verification process where the address and other details will be checked. Once all the information is found in order, the applicant is issued with a new Ration Card.
