Get Tatkal Passport With Just Aadhaar Number | In 10 Days
Now you can get a Tatkal Passport by just providing your Aadhaar Number. To make the procedure go faster, the passport department is putting an end to the verification certificate in order to acquire a passport under the Tatkal scheme.
Previously, the applicants were required to obtain a certificate from the gazetted officer stated that the passport be issued under the tatkaal category.
The notice by the Regional Passport Office reads
On the matter, a passport official said that this move of doing away with the annexure F (Specimen declaration of applicants for obtaining a passport in lieu of lost / damaged passport) to restraint corruption.
Generally people apply for Tatkal Passport in emergency and approach travel agents and them with the help of the government officials and ask for sky – high amounts for issuing such verification certificates.
Under this scheme, apart from Aadhaar number / enrolment number and Annexure – E, you are required to provide any two documents from the below mentioned list:
- EPIC (Elector’s Photo Identity Card)
- Service photo identity card issued by State / Central Government
- Public Sector Undertakings
- Local bodies or public limited companies
- Sc / ST / other backward class certificate
- Arms license
- Pension document such as ex – servicemen’s pension book / pension payment order / ex – servicemen’s widow / dependent certificate
- Old age pension order;
- Self – passport (unrevoked and undamaged)
- PAN (Permanent Account Number) Card
- Bank / Kisan / Post Office Passbook
- Students photo identity card issued by an educational institution
- Driving license (valid and jurisdiction of state of submission of applicant)
- Birth certificate issued under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act
- Ration Card
Requirements for Minors
If the applicant is below the age of 18 years, they are required to submit the below mentioned documents:
- Aadhaar Card
- Letter
- E – Aadhaar containing the 12 digit Aadhaar number
- 28 digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip
- Prescribed fee
Along with above mentioned documents, they are also required to submit any two of the below mentioned documents:
- Student photo identity card issued by an education institution
- Birth certificate issued under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act
- Ration card
Tatkaal Passport service is available on consideration grounds of genuine emergency like death, serious illness of a blood relative. However, this service is not for the case of scheduling travel plans, or in case of expired visa status or in case where the passport has not been renewed for more than six months after the date of expiry.

The NPS consists of two types of accounts:
- Tier I
- Tier II
The Tier I account is non-withdrawable until the age of 60 years or retirement except in specific situations whereas, the Tier II account is a voluntary savings account. The Subscribers to Tier II account to withdraw money anytime they want.
The NPS provides both online and app facilities for checking out balance and transaction statement.
To check the balance and transaction statement you need to login to your NPS account through the CRA Website (www.cra-nsdl.com) and enter the User ID and Password. After Logging in, select the Transaction Statement option and then the Holding Statement. This provides you the complete details of your accumulated balance in the NPS Fund. Click on the transaction statement to see the complete details of your transactions including the contributions.
Checking NPS Balance and Statement through App
The NPS Services can be availed in the UMANG App. The UMANG App is an initiative taken by the Government to offer various E-Gov Services under a single platform. This app is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology (MeiTY) and National e-Governance Division. You can avail both EPFO and NPS Services from the UMANG Platform.

The NPS also provides other services such as checking of current holding, transaction statements and recent contributions, other than that you can also change the investment scheme and change the address as well.

There are two investment options under the NPS Scheme: “Auto Choice” and “Active Choice”.
Under the “Auto-Choice” option the fund is invested as per the Life Cycle Fund Matrix designed by the experts. It also has different options: “Aggressive Life Cycle Fund”, “Moderate Life Cycle Fund” and “Conservative Life Cycle Fund”.
Whereas, the “Active-Choice” offers the investor an option to put his money in the pension fund so as to work in the different asset classes: equity, corporate/government debt, and an alternative investment fund (A). Putting an Investment in any asset class is optional.

UIDAI Start Aadhaar App With Dynamic OTP Based Verification
Few months back UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) launched the Aadhaar mobile application i.e m – Aadhaar. It is a mobile application on your smart phone which helps you carrying your Aadhaar information such as name, address, DOB, photograph which are linked with your unique Aadhaar Card on your phone and negates the need to carry it on your wallet.
Just after months of its launch, the application hits 1 million downloads. To make the application even more convenient to people, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has introduced Time Based One Time Password (TOTP) as a new feature to fast track authentication.

Earlier in the application, the users didn’t have the option to enter the OTP manually. However with the introduction to TOTP, the users would not have to wait for OTP to arrive on their mobile since a dynamic OTP will be always available on m – Aadhaar App on their mobile phones.
This would make the process easier in a place which has network issues in their area.

Show Enrolment Center Location – UIDAI
Rather than searching the the entire city or traveling miles for a Aadhaar center a person can simply visit the UIDAI Official Website to know the nearest enrolment center. Ways of searching the enrolment center.
- First by state, if a person is traveling or not sure which enrollment center will be nearest to him or her or if in general a person wants to know the enrollment center in his state.
- Second area wise, if a person knows his or her PIN code of an area then area wise enrollment center can be searched. However if a person does not know the area then he or she can.

Show Aadhaar Authentication History
Unique Identification Authority of India or commonly known as UIDAI who administers Aadhaar has introduced the provision of checking where and when your Aadhaar card was used. Follow the below mentioned steps for the same:
- Visit Aadhaar authentication history page i.e. resident.uidai.gov.in/home
- Enter your Aadhaar number and the security code in the picture on your screen
- Select ‘Generate OTP’ (One Time Password)
- You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile phone number. Don’t forget to verify your number on the UIDAI Official Website
- Now you will get an option to choose the period of information and the number of transactions. Enter the OTP you have received on your phone and click on submit option
- Now, you will see a date, time and type of all Aadhaar authentication requests made in the period you had chosen. However, the page won’t show who made the requests.

Aadhaar Number on Mobile Phone
In case of emergency or in a situation when a person does not remember the Aadhaar number or probably has lost his or her Aadhaar number than the online portal can be used to know your Aadhaar number. You can also choose to get the number via SMS. In such a case, the number will be sent to the number provided in Aadhaar card. To get the Aadhaar number via SMS a person should know the EID, date of enrolment as well as the mobile number registered in the Aadhaar portal

There has been a number of situations when an Aadhaar Card is not delivered to a person after enrolment. In such a case, the Online portal can also be used to know the Aadhaar status. Locking and Unlocking Biometrics via UIDAI Website
Every citizen of India while enrolling for an Aadhaar card is required to provide his or her biometrics which includes fingerprint scan and iris scan. To ensure that the biometric data is safe a person has the option of locking them in online portal. Further, they can unlock it anytime they want. However, it must be noted that the locked biometrics cannot be used by the user for any kind of authentication thus avoiding any kind misuse.

Duplicate Aadhaar/ Downloading E-Aadhaar
In case a person lost his or her Aadhaar card then they do not have to enroll for the Aadhaar card E-Aadhaar is similar to the Aadhaar card a person gets via post. To download the card online one should know the enrolment id or Aadhaar number, PIN code. Further, a person will also have to fill in his name and security verification. In case a person does not remember the Aadhaar number then the enrolment number as well the registered mobile number will have to be provided.

When Aadhaar Needs to be Updated
The details in the Aadhaar card can also be updated in the UIDAI Official Website. A person a can also update the details by visiting the Aadhaar enrollment but this not only time-consuming but a person is also required to pay Rs 25 to make the updates.
UIDAI has made changes to the online tools. As earlier, the subscribers could change or update details such as name, date of birth, mobile number and email address online itself. However, now only address can be updated online and rest of the details can be changed or updated by visiting the Aadhaar Kendra or Aadhaar centre, which is in effect from October 20, 2017.

Checking Aadhaar and Bank Account Linking Status
As the Government has made it mandatory to submit Aadhaar while opening new bank account and also that the existing bank account should be linked Aadhaar Card of the account holder before December 31,2017. The Government has also warned that the Aadhaar-less Bank Accounts will become invalid. To check the linking status of your Aadhaar and Bank account follow these simple steps:
- Visit the UIDAI official website: www.uidai.gov.in
- Go to “Aadhaar Online Services” Section, look for “Check Aadhaar and bank account status” link
- On clicking the link, you will be redirected to UIDAI Bank Mapper’s Portal.
- Enter the “Aadhaar Number” and “Security Code” displayed on the page.
- Click on “Send OTP”, an OTP will be received on the registered mobile number.
- Enter the received OTP in the “Enter OTP” box and Submit
- Your linking status will be displayed to you.

SBI will “redesign” Window Envelopes to safeguard PAN & Other Details
State Bank of India will redesign its envelopes which they used for the purpose of dispatching tax refund cheques of customers in order to cover their PAN (Permanent Account Number) and contact numbers. This decision has been taken by the SBI authorities after an activist raised this issue where the indispensable personal information was visible to anyone, which may result in mishandle, said the bank authority.
The decision has came forth after 16 months from when Commodore (retd) Lokesh Batra brought the issue to the light where the window envelopes used by the bank for dispatching tax refund cheques purpose, makes it easy for someone to glance through Permanent Account Number (PAN) and contact number of the taxpayer and can misuse it.
The complainer wrote to the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) Governor Urijit Patel claiming that SBI was violating its directions on ‘protection of customer’s information’ by sending crucial information about customers in “unsecured envelopes”.
He also said that he had been “pleading” to the higher authority of the SBI for the past 16 months to ensure to adhere with RBI directions, but nothing has changed.
