Providing a relief to all Taxpayers who are yet to file their Income Tax return (ITR), Government had announced extension of the deadline for the Income Tax Return File Submission from July 31st, 2017 to August 5, 2017.
This 5 day extension has been provided given the fact that Income Tax E Filling site has not been accessible for the better part of last week due to high demand. Tax Payers were fuming over the technical glitches that hampered their Tax filling attempts. Login in to the official website has become a Herculean task. According to CA’s who are burning the midnight oil to file returns for their client it was close to impossible to access the website.
The government has also given an extension to Link PAN Card and Aadhaar. The previous deadline for the same was 31st July, which has been extended to 31st Aug now. The last week was filled with reports of long queues at Aadhaar Enrollment Centers. Given the rumors, that your PAN Card will be cancelled if not linked with Aadhaar by 31st July, did not help the cause and created confusion for the whole situation.
